High-Speed Data & Video Transfer

Get a sampleMilitary personnel rely on data and video transferred in a split second to get the necessary information. Also, extreme temperatures, repeated vibration and challenging routing configurations are examples of land and in-vehicle conditions that can cause system and cable failure.

GORE® Quad Cables meet these challenges by offering high data rate transmission and a lighter, more rugged design. Designed for high-speed serial data and video protocols, they offer tighter skew requirements with controlled impedance. Our cables feature dual differential pairs that routinely transfer bi-directional signals at speeds up to 1 GHz at lengths up to 30 meters (100 feet).

Small, Rugged Quadrax Design
Gore’s Reduced Quad Cable Diameter

Reduced cable diameter

We originally invented this low-crosstalk quadrax design that reduces interference for clear, strong signals. Our cables offer a more compact size that’s around 40% smaller than comparable dual twisted pair cables. And, these reduced diameters are up to 30% lighter, which translates to considerable weight savings in vehicles. Being also highly flexible, maintainers can bend our cables tightly for easier routing in space-limited vehicle systems.

But there’s more! We make our cables with remarkably strong materials proven to withstand the environmental challenges and mechanical stresses typical during operations.

Applications

Perfectly aligned with today’s high-speed serial data and video protocols, GORE Quad Cables deliver steadfast results in a variety of applications, like:

  • box-to-box systems
  • digital visual interface (DVI)
  • EO/IR (electro-optical infrared) sensors
  • Ethernet backbone
  • HD streaming camera/video systems
  • mission systems
  • propulsion control
  • vectronics digital networks

Our cables can also be terminated with a variety of leading high-speed connector systems and backshells, like ARINC and MIL-STD-38999 with size 8 contacts.

Features & Benefits

GORE Quad Cables are engineered with unique features that make them more durable against challenging environmental factors and in-vehicle conditions, including:

  • original inventor of innovative, low-crosstalk quadrax design
  • temperature- and abrasion-resistant materials
  • chemically inert materials
  • smaller, lighter diameters

Our cables provide vehicle system architects and engineers with many benefits that improve electrical, mechanical and environmental performance such as:

  • tighter skew requirements aligned with high-speed serial data/video protocols
  • routine bi-directional signals with controlled impedance at speeds up to 1 GHz
  • low crosstalk performance for less signal interference
  • remarkably strong materials for rugged protection against challenging environments
  • compact size around 40% smaller than dual twisted pair constructions
